About
For more than a decade I have been building websites and focusing on Internet marketing and search engine optimization. I started out doing my own hobby sites – one of the most popular was started in 1998 on a “tilde” site (my host gave me a free spot). Soon after I bought the domain name and built Parrot Parrot. The site still gets about 50,000 visitors a month and is one of the most comprehensive sites focused on pet birds. I have a background in screenwriting, and I tended toward dark crime drama. I wanted one place to get everything related to crime and the law, so I built Crime Spider over many years. I don’t have much time for the site today, but I do publish a news feed of current crime stories related to drugs, which intersects nicely with my work in the addiction field.
I worked on my own this way for a couple of years, then joined a mid-sized company to manage their Internet presence in late 2000. There I built their Internet revenue from about 10% of revenue to 35% of revenue. The company was bought by CRC Health Group in 2006, which was funded by Bain Capital. I became Senior Director of Internet Marketing of all of CRC Health about a year later.
In 2009 I joined Elements Behavioral Health as VP of Internet Marketing and I have been building the foundation for the company’s Internet strategy as it grows over the next few years.
